Baramulla, Jun 19 (KNO): Amid growing public discourse around administrative disconnect in Jammu and Kashmir, Minister Javed Dar on Thursday termed the perception of a dual system as unfortunate, saying that the government is functional and actively addressing public concerns while pushing forward with its development agenda. “Unfortunately, a narrative of a dual system in Jammu and Kashmir is being created, but the reality is that the government is doing its work sincerely,” Dar, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said during his visit to Baramulla. He said that both the Chief Minister and his cabinet are actively addressing public concerns and working towards fulfilling the promises made during the elections. The Minister acknowledged that the public has high expectations, particularly due to the absence of an elected local government over the past six years, which had paralysed many developmental initiatives. “The system had collapsed due to the vacuum, but now we are back on the ground with renewed commitment,” he stated. Explaining the initial delay in implementation, the Minister noted that the government was formed in winter—traditionally a lean season for outdoor works, followed by the assembly session and planning exercises that briefly slowed momentum. “Now, execution has started across multiple departments including Roads & Buildings (R&B), Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Rural Development (RDD),” he added. He promised that the coming months will mark the beginning of a robust development phase across the Union Territory. “As promised during the elections, the developmental journey will begin with full intensity and dedication. He further said that the government is accessible at every level. “Whether it’s ministers, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah himself or his advisor, everyone is actively listening to people’s concerns. We are committed to delivering results at the pace people expect,” he said—(KNO)
